2016 Global HR Survey

Survey News

In a Frazer Jones first, we have conducted a Global HR Survey. Our annual surveys in Australia, Asia, Middle East and also Europe are a vital part of establishing current employment trends in their respective markets. While these surveys have been paramount in identifying key trends in local markets, this is the first time a survey has also gathered insights from the USA, after Frazer Jones acquired Maximum Management in New York earlier this year.

The 2016 Global HR Survey gathered data from businesses of all sizes across all industries. Respondents from around the world ranged from HR Administrators to HR Directors, providing an invaluable snapshot of the global HR community. We will be releasing the results of the survey shortly. Until then, we have some of the high level facts for your interest.

Nearly 3,500 HR professionals were surveyed from around the world, with over 10% coming from Australia. Of these:
• 61% identified as female
• 37% identified as male
• 0.10% identified as other
• 0.70% preferred not to disclose

From diversity perspective, 66% of respondents said diversity and inclusion was a part of their current employer’s corporate strategy, while 27% said no. 31% also said diversity was very important to their current employer, with only 4% responding with not at all important.

Some other fast facts include:
• 63% of respondents had a pay rise in the past 12 months.
• 55% said the organisation they worked for were being affected by the price of oil.
• 33% of professionals had a bachelor’s degree while 32% had a master’s degree
• The most popular HR sectors to work in were generalist HR roles, compensation, followed by HR projects or change

The survey will be released in full in 2017. For a more detailed look at current trends in HR, pre-request your copy of Frazer Jones’ Global HR Survey here.
