Salaries for graduate roles (or entry-level, as they are sometimes called) can vary from sector to sector. Roles in financial services or investment banking can sometimes offer a higher starting salary, but may restrict the exposure and range of duties that you can experience, compared for example to what Professional Services (such as law firms) may offer.
Frazer Jones Graduate Consultants will always be clear in terms of the nature of the role, chances for progression and the culture of the organisation, However, it’s most important that you focus on the content of the job description and research the company and/or business area in which you would be working. Many graduates fail at interview because they look too far over the horizon, so you need to stay focused on the role for which you are applying, rather than where you may be in two years’ time.
This section offers you a step-by-step guide to the directions your career can take – including information on the difference between the roles of HR, L&D, Recruitment/Graduate Recruitment and Reward Adiministration. We’ve also included advice on placement year positions, and information on gaining your Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development qualification (CIPD).
This diagram shows you at-a-glance what your career choices are, and where they can lead at each stage.
