Wellness in the workplace

An area that appears to be stimulating discussion amongst an increasing number of employers is the value of well-being programmes within the workplace.

As employees, we recognise that the workplace environment and ensuing work culture have lasting effects on us. The functionalist perspective on all of this is relatively straight forward: when people are satisfied with their job they are generally more productive both in and out of the workplace.
