Become a HR Volunteer or Trustee

Our HR Volunteer Network
Team Up is a completely free initiative and aims to support charities with an income of less than £1m who may need HR advice and support but have limited resources and budget or for those with a limited network looking to add a HR professional to their Trustee Board. Team Up will enable charities to access the HR Professionals like you who have agreed to offer their time and valuable resources. We currently have over 300 people in our network and its growing all the time.

Why Become A Trustee
Trusteeship is one of the most important voluntary roles in the charity sector. Trustees give direction to a charity and are ultimately responsible for its activities. There are lots of small charities working for diverse causes who could really benefit from the time and skills you could offer them as a trustee, for more information please follow the link http://www.smallcharities.org.uk/why-become-a-trustee/

How Can HR Pro-bono Work Support Charities?
We believe in the value of skills based volunteering. As a HR professional you have the much-needed HR expertise to help charities grow and achieve more. The way in which you could potentially support may differ, from short-term one off projects such as support with writing job descriptions, policy development, talent development plans, to free telephone HR advice on a range of matters. We aim to offer you a range of different opportunities that can accommodate your area or expertise, level of commitment and time to give.

So How Does It Work?
Team Up will support you on the journey to becoming a Trustee or connect you to valuable pro-bono HR support opportunities in organisations that need your help. If you would like to join our HR Volunteer Network simply let your Frazer Jones contact know, alternatively you may want to talk to Jo Major, our Social Responsibility Lead for more information at teamupHR@frazerjones.com

You will be added to our group and emailed each time we have a new opportunity available with a charity. We will give you full details on the charity, their mission and what they are looking for. We will provide you with the direct contact details of the charity and encourage you to get in touch with them if you are interested or would like to know more.

If the opportunity isn’t for you, you don’t need to do anything at all, just wait for the next one to come through. We are simply making the connection between you and the charity, we do not get involved in the process. Naturally, if you need our advice or support at any stage we are available.
