We are pleased to announce that Frazer Jones launched their Future HR Leaders Programme last week. The vision of this programme is to connect and assist ambitious HR professionals, facilitating them on their journey to becoming the HR leaders of the future.
These exclusive round table events bring together HR Generalists from graduate to advisor level, specifically working within the Financial Services industry. The events are based around open discussion and an opportunity to share best practice, experiences and new ideas as well as discussing current challenges and topical issues within the world of HR. Held across two mornings there was a good mix of organisations in attendance including professionals from Asset Management, Hedge Funds, Brokerages, Insurance Firms, Investment and Challenger Banks.
The agenda included a wide range of topics for discussion including; the influence of the FCA on their businesses and the Senior Managers Regime and what action has been taken so far. Brexit was another big talking point with discussions around how businesses are approaching any anticipated challenges and what proactivity has been taken so far within each business. Other topics of interest included Technology in HR, the Apprenticeship Levy, Women in Finance (Gender Pay Gap & Diversity), ER (Redundancies in bonus season) and innovative Recruitment Strategies for 2017. The range of subjects worked well to provoke some really interesting conversation and debate.
The first two events were a real success, with some clear differences in the style of HR, but also a lot of common challenges within each HR function. The investment and challenger banks are naturally much further along in their process of addressing the Senior Managers Regime with training and compliance standards already being implemented, but all attendees were eager to keep up to date with any progression or further insights on this pertinent topic.
Preferred HRIS models including Workday, SAP, Oracle and SuccessFactors were also covered, as well as some interesting discussion on ‘disruptive HR’ systems (e.g Hibob and Charlie HR), which look to challenge Workday and are tailored for more boutique business environments.
Initial feedback from attendees of the Future HR Leaders event has been really positive, with industry relevant peers gaining insights into the market they operate in, as well as how to overcome challenges in an ever more regulated and competitive industry. In hosting these networking and knowledge-sharing events, we hope to be able to add value to ambitious HR professionals, the businesses they work for, and their longer term careers in HR. We will be hosting a number of these sessions throughout 2017 where we will aim to connect more HR professionals who show the potential to one day be a Future HR Leader.
If you are interested in getting involved in the next event, please feel free to contact either Andy or Jon who will be happy to share further details.
