Urgent search for first HR leader
The challenge
This 60-person alternative asset manager had recently appointed a new CFO/CCO tasked with overseeing human capital. Given their ambitious growth plans and commitment to their culture, they sought their first HR leader urgently.
The solution
The ideal candidate needed a blend of operational and strategic skills, aligned with the organization’s culture, to enhance HR practices swiftly. The CFO was temporarily handling HR responsibilities until this critical hire was made, adding urgency to the search process.
We leveraged our extensive HR network in small to mid-sized financial services firms, whilst also actively expanding our talent pool through referrals and market research. Initially, we focused on two main talent pools: HR leaders experienced in standalone roles within growth environments, and second-tier candidates poised to step up. This approach quickly helped to clarify that Hunter Point Capital needed a more experienced HR leader with prior experience in a similar capacity.
The outcome
We secured Hunter Point’s chosen candidate within seven weeks of the initial brief. Whilst they met a number of excellent candidates, they hired the first one we presented. This was due to the candidate showcasing extensive relevant experience, as well as the ambition, entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative nature that matched the firm’s culture.
