The client
Grab is an 8 Billion Dollar tech startup, and the leading ride hailing App for South East Asia, Globally headquartered in Singapore. They have successfully achieved 3x growth last year to 45 million downloads, and up to 2.5 million daily rides for their clients across Singapore and neighbouring Southeast Asian nations such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

Client’s need
A newly created position for a Head of Leadership and Talent Development to drive the Talent and Performance strategy in line with the company’s business objectives. The challenge was in identifying candidates with a deep understanding of cutting edge Talent Management strategies along with hands on application experience. Finding someone who would fit into a fast paced organisation that was growing rapidly and evolving continually was a challenge.

The Challenge
Frazer Jones were hired on an exclusive basis to engage with talent in APAC and internationally in December 2016. The interview process for the role was an eight step process, and during the course of a year four candidates reached the final round to meet with the founder, however with no success.

The result
The successful candidate was later identified at a tech start-up in Germany. After screening, we found them be the perfect fit for the role. After initial conversations, Grab flew the candidate from Germany to Singapore and offered them the role, a year after our intial briefing.
