How changing your job can help the rainforest
The English philosopher and author Peter Marshall once said “ Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned „. According to this motto, I launched a fundraising campaign about two years ago to support the “DUMUSSTKÄMPFEN” campaign for the children’s cancer clinic in Frankfurt. My colleagues and I donated two euros for every confirmed job interview we secured for our candidates.
At the end of the first month, we had successfully raised almost €500. As a result of this success, I decided to continue to set aside two euros every time I secured an interview for a candidate but I selected a different social institution every few months.
As recruitment consultants, we support candidates in their professional development and at the same time we help companies find specialists to realise their visions. However, I am really keen to add more value in addition to the professional service I provide. I also wish to do my part on a social level and help to contribute in other ways.
Therefore, I would like to support the organisation “PRIMAKLIMA” for the rest of the year and collect €3 for the reforestation of a forest in Nicaragua with every job interview I arrange. The project has three aims:
- Climate protection by integrating CO2 through the planting of new forests
- Poverty reduction through interest-free loans, income from sustainable forestry and payments for ecosystem services
- Protecting the environment by restoring ecosystems and improving air, water and soil quality
