This also alludes to why many men go for jobs they might not be totally qualified for and women hold themselves back. For me, my motto \u201cchoose to challenge\u201d is about breaking those stereotypes, leading by example, championing not only those around me but celebrating my wins and taking pride in my own achievements. By not being afraid to show up every day in my authentic best, I know I\u2019m giving others the permission to do the same.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is one lesson you learnt the hard way?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I can be very impatient and even though it does work in my favour when I need to get things done, it can also cause upset &#8211; like when you think you\u2019ve missed out on an opportunity, or don\u2019t get the job you want, or get passed up for promotion. Patience and managing disappointment is the one lesson I\u2019ve learnt and continue to learn. When you want something, the universe answers in three ways: Yes. Yes, but not yet. No, I have something even better planned for you. When I\u2019m having a negative experience, I have to remind myself of a line from the New Earth \u201cWhy am I having this experience, because it\u2019s the experience I need right now\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How can female leaders ensure they get a seat at the table?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By not worrying too much about being liked, but by being authentic and not being afraid to speak their truth. This all comes down to knowing who you are, your values, what\u2019s important to you and why you want to go where you want to go. Not everyone has the luxury of getting their dream job \u2013 but if you know where your passion lies you can bring it into your day job in some form or the other and that helps you to be the best you can be.
