Job Details – Senior Recruiting Manager (West Coast)
A leading Am Law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Recruiting Manager to lead lateral attorney hiring across its West Coast offices. Reporting into firm leadership, this role will play a key part in supporting strategic growth initiatives and delivering a high-impact, best-in-class recruiting function.
This is a highly visible position, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive lateral partner hiring, strengthen market presence, and enhance the firm’s competitive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Talent Acquisition
Partner with Office Managing Partners and Practice Group Leaders to shape and execute lateral hiring strategy, with a focus on partner recruitment across key West Coast markets (including California and Seattle).
Market Intelligence & Relationships
Build and maintain strong relationships with top search firms and market contacts to ensure consistent access to high-calibre lateral talent. Provide market insight to inform hiring priorities and growth strategy.
End-to-End Recruitment Leadership
Lead the full lifecycle of lateral attorney hiring, including direct sourcing, candidate engagement, assessment, and offer negotiation. Ensure a seamless and professional experience throughout.
Stakeholder Management
Act as a trusted advisor to firm leadership on hiring decisions, candidate evaluation, and offer structuring.
Interview Process Oversight
Manage all aspects of the interview process, including scheduling, feedback consolidation, and decision-making support.
Strategic Communications
Prepare confidential materials and leadership-ready documentation to support partner-level hiring decisions.
Additional Scope
Collaborate with broader recruiting teams on multi-office searches and growth initiatives
Support select associate recruiting and development initiatives as required
Contribute to wider firm talent strategy across the West Coast
Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of attorney recruiting experience, with a strong focus on lateral partner hiring
- Background within a law firm or legal search environment
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate at a strategic level
- Strong market knowledge across West Coast legal hiring
- Excellent communication, judgement, and relationship management skills
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of discretion when handling confidential matters
Package
Salary: $175,000 – $195,000
Competitive based on experience, alongside a wider benefits package
