Director of People
We’re working with a rapidly growing, multi-site animal healthcare provider to hire a Director of People based in Los Angeles to support the West & Central regions of a rapidly scaling de novo business. The company currently has 40 facilities nationally with plans to open up another 30 facilities in 2023. There are 2,800 employees, ~half of which will be supported by this Director of People and their team. Employees are located in CA, AZ, CO, and IL.
Our client is seeking candidates with 10+ years of broad generalist experience. This role will manage 2 HR business partners based in the region and receive support from the HR centers of excellence, whose capabilities are still evolving (i.e. talent acquisition, total rewards, and learning & development). The HRBPs will support a segment of the region, escalating any complex matters to this Director of People, who will also directly support the California region as a dedicated population. Along with their team, the Director of People will be responsible for all HR matters including employee relations, culture and engagement, rewards, diversity initiatives, and onboarding. The ideal candidate will have experience in a scaling distributed field setting, such as retail field or ambulatory healthcare. Experience working in a regulated clinical setting would be a plus. There is an expectation of travel throughout the field, which will be much higher at the onset in order to build relationships of trust with the management and employees in the field.
