Global Employee Benefits Specialist
We have partnered with our client, a prominent international firm in their search for a skilled Global Employee Benefits Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will report to the Associate Director, Global Benefits, and work collaboratively with the Global Talent and Human Resources team. Your primary responsibility will be to administer comprehensive benefit programs and address employee inquiries and concerns related to benefits. Additionally, you will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining internal controls to ensure consistent, competitive, and effective benefits offering across the global workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the planning, development, and administration of global benefits strategies, policies, and procedures for core benefits such as life, health, and disability insurance, as well as pensions and related retirement plans.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements or additional benefits to optimize cost savings while adhering to legal requirements.
- Utilize your HR and benefits experience to enhance the communication and administration of benefits and leave policies across multiple jurisdictions, aligning them with our organization’s values and market practices.
- Ensure seamless functionality of the Workday benefits configuration, enabling a user-friendly interface and generating effective reports on enrollment and cost data.
- Conduct audits of employee coverage and cost information, reconcile census reports and vendor invoices, and collaborate with Finance to manage payments and track retirement plan contributions.
- Maintain meticulous benefit records and implement control systems, ensuring compliance with employment laws governing benefit plans.
- Gather and analyze data on claims experience to produce management reports, highlighting significant trends impacting future costs.
- Provide exceptional service by promptly addressing benefit inquiries, plan requirements, status changes, and claim issues, fostering positive relations with our employees.
- Facilitate effective communication with benefit vendors, managing claims, eligibility, and ongoing service interactions.
- Play an active role in Open Enrollment and contribute to other Talent initiatives and projects as needed, including Wellness program administration.
- Collaborate with internal partners and assist in the distribution of benefits enrollment materials and eligibility validations.
- Verify the accuracy of monthly premium statements for group insurance policies, resolving any administrative challenges with carrier representatives.
- Work in close coordination with the finance department to ensure timely vendor payments and retirement plan contributions.
- Provide crucial reports for allocation and billing charges, performing quality checks on benefits-related data, and identifying reporting requirements.
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by your supervisor to ensure the efficient functioning of the Department, Office, and Firm.
Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in employee benefits and HR, ideally within a law firm or similar professional services business.
- Detailed operational knowledge of employee benefits and pensions, including a strong interest in expanding expertise to cover international jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in administering benefits using Workday.
- Exceptional research and analytical skills, with a talent for clear and concise verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with employees, managers, and vendors.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adept at managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
This is a hybrid working environment, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Compensation is slated at $100K base + discretionary bonus.
