Our client, a global trading and investment firm is seeking a strong Global Payroll Specialist to join their Chicago, IL offices on a hybrid basis. Reporting into the Global Payroll Manager, as the Specialist you will be tasked with processing semi-monthly and monthly payrolls for 1,800+ employees across US, Canada, UK, Europe and Asia.

Responsibilities encompass diverse payroll computations such as overtime, vacation balances, retro pay, etc. Global year-end tax processes, Workday HRIS system updates, and managing payroll liabilities for accounting are key tasks. Post-payroll benefit funding reports, tax agency compliance, and maintaining data integrity via stringent controls are integral. Implementing process enhancements for accuracy and efficiency is continuous. Handling unemployment claims, wage garnishments, labor statistic filings, and being a main point of contact for employee payroll queries are expected.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of global payroll experience, strong Workday skills, and a Bachelor’s degree. They should understand payroll processes, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, detail-oriented, organized, work well under pressure, handle confidential data discreetly, and possess strong communication and analytical abilities. Collaboration, adaptability, and a willingness to assist are also valued.
