In this role, you will work closely with the Graduate Resourcing Manager and a dedicated Graduate Recruitment advisor.
As a Graduate Recruitment Specialist, your primary responsibility will be managing various aspects of their day-to-day Graduate Resourcing effort. You will demonstrate creativity, strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and a competitive mindset. With support from the Graduate Resourcing Advisor and Graduate Resourcing & Development Assistant, your key responsibilities will include identifying opportunities to promote the firm’s employment proposition through online and media adverts. You will stay updated on competitor activities and potential candidate populations. Additionally, you will develop and execute comprehensive attraction and events strategies by collaborating with universities and student groups, thereby enhancing the firm’s reputation.
Building and managing relationships with key contacts at universities is a crucial aspect of this role. You will create and deliver campus-based skills sessions, university law fairs, and receptions to engage with potential candidates. As a representative of the firm, you will attend UK law fairs, receptions, and general recruitment events, sometimes requiring overnight stays during the milk round season. Collaborating with the firm’s media consultant, you will set media strategies and establish partnership plans with advertisers. Managing relationships with graduate publications and advertisers will also be part of your responsibilities.
Your role will involve providing content for firm bios, editorial materials, written interviews, and sponsored events. You will oversee the firm’s social media presence related to graduate resourcing, ensuring effective management of the firm’s application database. Collaborating with the marketing team, you will work on the design and content of their graduate resourcing materials.
Within the selection process, you will review applications and video interview assessments. Additionally, you will conduct interviews with senior associates to select candidates for vacation schemes and assessment centres. Independently managing and participating in the successful running of vacation schemes, assessment centres, and open days will also be part of your responsibilities. Attending all Graduate Resourcing social events during vacation schemes and open days, will be expected. Furthermore, you will monitor and help drive the candidate management process once an offer has been extended.
In collaboration with key internal contacts, such as the Diversity Manager and Global Citizenship Manager, you will manage diversity and inclusion initiatives across different functions. Building relationships with external diversity and inclusion contacts, you will successfully co-run recruitment diversity events. Identifying opportunities to promote our firm’s graduate resourcing diversity proposition through online and media adverts will be essential. Additionally, you will present progress updates on our firm’s graduate resourcing diversity initiatives to key internal stakeholders.
To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 4-5 years of experience and have a strong understanding of the graduate resourcing market. Knowledge of the professional services environment, particularly in the legal industry, is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, along with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, are essential. You should be client-service-oriented, able to manage diverse stakeholders, and have a track record of delivering high-quality work in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are also critical.
