I am supporting a high growth and ambitious publisher in appointing their first Head of People. The role will directly report into the COO and CEO and will be tasked with building and launching their people strategy. As the business has grown considerably over the last few years it is important that they now take a step back and ensure the business is structured and working as effectively as possible. The role will really be split into two parts, firstly providing some org design and change management expertise before looking to imbed the new people strategy.
The organisation currently employs circa 400 staff across 4 sites in the UK. Whilst they are part of a larger group, the leadership team are given the autonomy to build and shape their business direction. You will be supported by a small HR team but you'll need to enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in all aspects of HR, whilst being able to work with the senior team in shaping their strategic direction.
You will have prior experience of working within the creative industry and will have operated in a Head of/Director role. You will be able to demonstrate working in full cycle generalist roles, fully combining operations and strategy. Engagement within the organisation is already high, but the business now needs to build the fundamentals which will include rolling out a new HRIS, relaunching performance management, and talent management. Prior experience in those areas will be key.
