Frazer Jones are partnering with a global insurance broker in their search for an experienced HR Business Partner to be responsible for supporting their Australian business. Reporting to the local CEO and Head of HR in London, the role will be based in Sydney CBD with hybrid/flexible working.

With a recent acquisition and a continuing growth agenda, you will help develop & implement HR solutions to meet the local business needs aligned to the Global HR plan. Joining a global HR team of circa 15, this role will provide autonomy & responsibility to lead a function locally, with added local HR support in time.

This is a true generalist role working on everything from recruitment and performance management to coaching managers and managing complex HR projects cross-functionally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively develop & support the delivery of HR processes and implement changes as needed
  • Build strong business relationships and provide creative HR solutions to maximise impact
  • Promote positive changes in people management practices to drive performance improvement
  • Develop and maintain succession plans for key talent and job positions
  • Challenge organisational structures and propose changes to meet immediate and future business needs
  • Manage effective recruitment & onboarding
  • Coach, support, manage & challenge managers across HR policies & practices
  • Manage employee relations
  • Implement wellbeing initiatives
  • Provide project management on both local initiatives & as part of the global HR team

About you:

We are looking for a self-motivated HR professional with hands-on experience advising and coaching the business. You will need to have sound local employment law knowledge and be comfortable in an environment where you need to roll your sleeves up but have the experience and ideas on how to progress the business forward as they grow (ideally with experience implementing people processes, policies & procedures) and the ability to influence at the senior executive level.

Prior experience working in insurance / financial services will be a bonus. A commercial & entrepreneurial approach is essential.
