Biotech / Start up with growth opportunity
£140,000 – £150,000 + bonus, strong benefits
London / Hybrid (approx 3 days in the office with flex) with occasional UK travel

Are you excited by start-up’s? Have you experience of taking a start up from zero to success, and have you the experience of doing this in a Bio tech (or very similar) organisation, working with founders, C-Suite and VPs?

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has start up experience to be able to implement the strategy for businesses with investor backing, you will be an integral part of the growth and development of Bio tech start up’s who need a people strategy around how to grow for the most part of your week, and in this hybrid role, you will also be part of the wider corporate business working on delivering strategy across the scale up business and having a more generalist operational element to the role a couple of days a week.

Duties

• Understand the business which is ever changing, work closely with the founders and investor company to propose, create and deliver the people strategy
• Take the business from its infancy (3-10 employees) to a size that fits it’s needs and drives success for the future
• It isn’t all about policy and process at this stage, it is about understanding the journey you are about to embark on and how you make sure you get the best from the people around you and how you grow at the right pace
• Create and build the strategy around culture, understand what is important and to who, plan who the business needs to operate and when they need to be hired.
• Don’t get me wrong, you will also be handling transactional and operational duties (with support from HR admin) and rolling your sleeves up
• Ambiguity is a large part of this role, there won’t be a JD or rulebook, every project will differ, and you will bring people on an exciting journey, you will be passionate about success, thrive off working in a highly successful environment with extremely entrepreneurial leaders

Skills and Experience

• Experience working for a Bio tech company is key, you will also have experience in a start up business and creation/implementation
• You will be able to deal with ambiguity and work with minimal structure, being the one to implement this
• Experience creating strategic direction and working closely with Founders and C-Suite, being able to deal with change of direction and focus when needed quickly
• Experience working with highly skilled individuals, at pace and in a driven and high performing, entrepreneurial culture
• Being able to work without a job description, able to roll up your sleeves and get things done!
• Experience working with VC or PE investors previously is also required.
