My client is a national religious charity supporting people across 62 local communities lead by a prominent figure who represents the faith across Great Britain and the Commonwealth. They are recruiting for HR Manager to be the right hand to the HR Director by playing a crucial role in developing the HR Strategy.

The Human Resources team support and direct the entire organisation of 1400 employees covering all HR duties. This role is suited to an experienced senior HR professional with a strong generalist background including a significant level of employee relations practise. The decisions made in this role will have an impact on the community/department and the organisation as a whole therefore the role requires a high level of HR policy and practice expertise, policy and procedure development, performance management and general service responsiveness. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to use sound judgement, effective analysis of data, management reporting, and the building of effective relationships. You will be a robust and resilient HR Professional used to working with multiple stakeholders up to Executive Director level.

Within the 62 communities the organisation supports they hold senior leaders who are also volunteers and often have managerial responsibilities for salaried employees this then requires communication frequently and will often include very sensitive information requiring complete confidentiality and discretion in dealing with contacts. You will have the attributes to support the high profile nature of this work and demonstrate professional integrity. This role will offer you the opportunity to be a critical friend to the HR Director and support her in developing a team of 6 and leading on HR best practise across the organisation. You will work on multiple projects including sourcing and implementing a new HRIS system. Pay and reward review and updating policy and procedures and developing a strategic performance management plan.

You will be highly organised, possesses initiative with the ability to prioritise, as well as being commercial in approach. You will be determined, yet approachable and have a professional and resourceful approach. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and fully CIPD qualified with a strong background in HR practice applied in a complex organisation, with strong employment law and an excellent understanding of change management, a good understanding of HRIS, (Human Resources Information Systems), and proven management skills of an HR team.
