HR Operations Manager
We have a current opportunity for a HR Operations Manager to cover a maternity leave (12-month FTC) for a leading law firm in Surrey. Ideally we are looking for someone to be available to start in post from mid-June, could be sooner if appropriate.
The successful HR Operations Manager will work closely with the wider HR / L&D team, to improve business performance, through acting as a key point of contact for staff on all operational HR matters. We are seeking an experienced generalist, ideally with Professional Services experience, who can partner with senior stakeholders from across the firm.
You will be a credible individual who can liaise with senior stakeholders confidently, who in turn is commercially astute with a good understanding of the practical application of HR.
Operating across a broad remit, your responsibilities will range from day-to-day employee relations to all stages of HR Project work from inception to delivery.
Duties include:
* Assist in the further development of the HR function and the service it provides to the business
* Understand and interpret HR needs for each department and provide practical advice from a commercial perspective but also within the bounds of the relevant legislative framework
* Work with the head of HR & L&D to manage HR operations and implement policies and practices as relate to the employee lifecycle
* Support the coaching and upskilling of partners, Heads of Departments (Partners) and Business Services managers in the development of their people management skills
* Support Heads of Departments with managing employee relations issues and performance management
* Work with the wider HR team and stakeholders across the business on various HR & L&D projects
* Manage and support the key annual operational activities such as promotions, budgeting and salary review
* Keep up to date with and support the annual market intelligence and benchmarking activities for salaries and remuneration
* Proactively encourage a culture of regular constructive feedback
* Create meaningful impact in priority areas such as talent retention and employee engagement and motivation
* Assist with the coaching and upskilling of junior members of the HR team
