Our client, a global media analytics company, is hiring an HR Representative/HR Generalist, based in Emeryville, CA.
Whether the title of this role will be an HR Representative or an HR Generalist will depend on years and aptitude of HR experience, with the target range of experience being 2 to 3 years for an HR Rep and 3-4 years for an HR Generalist. This will support an acquired business which is being integrated into the larger enterprise. The role will focus heavily on managing employee data, reporting and analytics, responding to employee inquiries, being the first point of contact for all HR issues, and managing all HR service delivery requirements for the local population (performance management, employee relations, recruiting with the support of the center of excellence). The employee population is about 100 in size which is comprised largely of technical professionals, and some sales and corporate functions. The HR Rep/Generalist will also serve as the HR subject matter expert for all immigration matters for the broader business unit population of approximately 500 employees, in partnership with internal immigration counsel.
The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality and the capability to empower the local staff to navigate a much larger corporate HR infrastructure versus enabling the employees to rely on HR in the manner in which they have traditionally relied on HR prior to the acquisition. Diplomacy, compassion, and a backbone are critical for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a large, matrixed corporate infrastructure working with a regional employee population.
