Job Title: Employee Relations Manager

Location: Oxford

Contract Type: Interim – 6 Months

Reporting To: Chief People Officer

Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture? We are seeking an Employee Relations Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking consultancy firm on a 6-month interim basis.

In this pivotal role, you will lead the employee relations agenda, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s values and strategic goals. You’ll provide expert guidance on UK employment law, manage complex employee cases, and help shape a culture where people feel supported, respected, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective employee relations strategies
  • Create and maintain employment policies in line with UK legislation
  • Manage complex ER cases including grievances, disciplinaries, and performance issues
  • Coach and support managers on best practices in employee relations
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Analyse ER trends and provide insights to inform decision-making
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement in ER processes and practices

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in employee relations or HR management
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience developing policies, employee handbooks, and employment contracts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience delivering training or coaching to managers
  • Ability to balance business needs with employee wellbeing
