We are thrilled to be working on an exciting opportunity with a global Insurance business, who are currently searching for a new Lead HR Business Partner to become a part of the global HR team, working from the Cologne office. This is a key leadership role covering Germany and Sweden with a total of approx. 320 people across the various parts of the firm. You will play a key role in supporting the teams to meet organizational goals and agreements through strategic and hands-on HR work. You will implement global, EMEA and local strategic HR initiatives that support the achievement of business goals. At the same time, you will be in constant communication with the international group functions as well as with the international management.

The role involves supporting the Executive Board and local management team in the development and implementation of strategy, as well as developing and implementing people strategies aligned to the local business to achieve higher levels of growth and performance.

This opportunity would well suit a dynamic HR leader who can demonstrate strategic and leadership skills but is also comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where it is important to be willing to work operationally and “roll up your sleeves” where required. The role will lead a small team and therefore you will have the opportunity to organise the structure of said team as needed.

The firm have embraced flexible working as a core part of their culture and they provide the option to work from home up to three days per week.

Required skills/experience:

  • You have a track record of delivering high quality HR services in high-growth, fast-paced organizations that add value during periods of growth
  • You have previous experience of delivering HR services in a matrix environment and can demonstrate above average results in HR
  • You are performance-driven and characterized by strategic thinking, innovation and flexibility in dealing with complex situations and are able to find effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations as they arise
  • You have experience in leading and developing a small team.
  • You have experience with management information systems and reporting
  • You create executive level presentations and reports
  • You have excellent project management skills, including successfully leading projects from the planning phase through to completion
  • You act independently and are able to work with a small staff
  • Experience in post-merger integration and due diligence is desirable but not a requirement
  • You have a university degree and HR certifications
  • You are a determined, assertive and transformational leader with excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of hiring, managing and motivating high performing teams
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken at business level) is required
