We're working on a Compensation Manager search for a very successful environmental non-profit located in Midtown. The organization ~ 550 domestic employees, with a small handful of employees in Asia Pacific. This role reports to their head of compensation, benefits and HR systems and will have oversight for all aspects of day-to-day compensation planning and administration.
Being a non-profit, compensation management primarily consists of base salary. The complexity of the role entails having the experience and judgement to make decisions that consider internal equity against market pricing, and having the ability to communicate that rationale in an influential manner to an audience for which structured compensation is a new concept. While experience managing compensation is critical for success in this role, relationship management and communication skills are tantamount to technical expertise. This role will be exciting as the Compensation Manager will support a new compensation structure that Executive and HR leadership have rolled out to the organization recently. This is a change management role as much as it is a compensation role.
