Our client, a noted global Technology Consultancy, is looking for a skilled Payroll Associate to support their global business, with ownership and focus over the administration of a U.S. payroll of approximately 800 employees. Reporting into a knowledgeable and supportive Head of HR Operations and Payroll, this hire will be an integral part of their lean team of 3, working collaboratively to assure timeliness and accuracy of their semi-monthly payroll are met.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the following:
* Prepare reconciliation spreadsheets for semi-monthly U.S. payroll.
* Manage all U.S. payroll changes, including input for new hires, terminations, and data updates.
* Research and set up SUI, State, and other tax jurisdictions as required.
* Coordinate payroll and benefits changes as needed for global North American offices.
* Maintain accurate HR data records to reflect pay-related changes in the payroll system.
* Collaborate with the Finance team to address payroll inquiries and support other departments as needed.
* Assist in processing 401k enrollments and contribute to 401k Non-discrimination testing and audits.
* Support the setup of new tax jurisdictions and handle garnishments, verifications of employment, and unemployment claims.
* Facilitate audits by providing necessary records and documentation.
* Respond promptly to employee inquiries related to payroll.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements under SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC, and other relevant bodies.

Required Competencies:
* Experience out of fast moving technology or professional services environments, with complex corporate populations.
* Proficiency with US payroll systems, ideally ADP Workforce Now.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
* 3 or more years of direct experience in payroll administration, with strong multi-state knowledge ideally of a payroll 500 +.
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field.
* Experience managing both exempt and non-exempt employee populations.
* Familiarity with working in regulated environments and understanding of associated risk and compliance requirements.

The firm operates on a hybrid model with in-office time required weekly in their Chicago location.
