We are pleased to be working with a retail giant that continues to outperform their growth forecast and mandates in the last financial year, shoring up a revenue of more than $4billion. As an essential services provider that had to keep its doors open even during the apex of the pandemic, our client is especially cognizant of the importance of a competent and satisfied workforce. To ensure that this remains the case, a slew of initiatives such as digital literacy workshops, vocational rotations among others were rolled out with the intention of furthering the employees’ capabilities while fulfilling their career aspirations. Efforts to develop the workforce continue to gain traction, with broader structural changes (e.g. organization re/design, overhauling of Information Technology frameworks) also underway/in the pipeline. To facilitate such efforts, the client is looking for a Project Management Office (PMO) Lead who can balance multiple projects to be executed on a Group level.

Job Description

Reporting into the HR Director, the responsibilities of the PMO Lead are three-fold. First, you will serve as a Business-HR change agent who provides inputs and front conversations related to business improvements (including those relating to joint ventures, setting up new entities etc.) through a people-centric lens. Second, you will introduce greater discipline into the organisation through coaching/training your colleagues to be proficient in multifarious management/improvement methodologies, tools and practices (e.g. Lean Agility, Waterfall) as a means of improving workforce performance. Finally, you will inject more standardised structure to the organisation with regards to project management and execution. This means offering guidance to project managers, developing metrics and toolkits, as well as consolidating best practices across departments. Put simply, the PMO Lead will set the agenda for project planning and delivery within the organisation.

Job Requirements

We are looking for a strong candidate (HR and beyond) with strong track records in driving cross-functional projects on an organisation-wide level. Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent will be looked upon favourably. You have a consultative and engaging personality, and are able to handle competing priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines. As this is a newly created role, candidates who are willing to put in extra effort to go above and beyond are very much welcomed.
