Regional Chief HR Officer
We’re working with a national healthcare system to hire a Regional Chief Human Resources Officer based at one of their hospitals in Orange County, CA. This role will primarily support one 400-bed acute care facility across two buildings in close proximity. Depending on the skills and experience of potential candidates, there may be the possibility of leading the HR function for several hospitals in the region, but the goal will be to expand the scope of the role over time if the incoming candidate is assigned to support only the largest facility in the region upon assuming the role. Either way, there’s a bigger need for HR leadership in the region and the leadership team is approaching this flexibly in order to set up the incoming CHRO for success.
Our client is seeking candidates with 10+ years of broad HR leadership experience gained largely in an or multiple acute care facilities. The facilities are unionized and our client is seeking candidates with experience working in an environment with multiple collective bargaining agreements, particularly in the State of California, although there is a Labor team who will lead contract negotiations and this CHRO will be utilized in more of a third chair capacity. There is an HR team in place, but the team needs to be stabilized and optimized to establish a relationship of trust with the management and the employees, moving the HR function towards a true business partnering capability. There is a well-established HR centers of excellence model in place into which the HR team can tap for support with recruitment at all levels, compensation planning, benefits and payroll support, etc.
Our client is seeking candidates who will be willing to work onsite 5 days per week. This role reports into a regional CEO and will work closely with the entire hospital leadership team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced healthcare HR leader who wants to work with a leadership team that is looking to create a positive working environment for all employees and find sustainable solutions to get ahead of issues of recruitment, retention, and employee engagement.
