I am exclsuively partnering with a leading global financial services organisation which has a presence in 73 countries, with more than 196,000 employees responsible for it’s three core market offerings covering: domestic markets, international financial services along with corporate & institutional banking. At a more regional level this organisation focusses on corporate investment banking and securities services employing c3000 FTE across the UK. The 60 strong HR team based in London partner with the business across the full end to end HR life cycle along with regular contact with the Group HR team that sits outside of the UK.
My client is looking to recruit a Senior Employee Relations Advisor, which forms a small but agile team of 3, plus an assistant, with coverage over complex UK matters only. As one of the Senior Employee Relations Advisors you will handle those employee matters that are complex in nature and are process driven by formal procedures with a clear line of accountability between your role and that of the HRBP. You will be involved in issues, often highly sensitive, such as disciplinary, grievances, misconduct, performance management, breach of policies, organisational change as well as the ability to provide advisory consult to the HRBPs as and when needed to mitigate business risk.
To be considered for this role you will have in-depth and relevant experience in UK employment law and/or UK employee relations in a fast-paced environment, with material exposure to working in or advising in the international banking market, including in the regulatory context. Ideally this experience would be supported by relevant academic or professional qualifications otherwise time in role across the UK employment law landscape. You will have an analytical approach to solve for problems with the ability to show good judgement to balance commerciality with risk management with excellent drafting skills. As you will be working on highly complex matters you will need strong emotional intelligence with the ability to flex your style to always ensure diplomacy to influence outcomes whilst always ensuring a compassionate and fair approach to employees. You absolutely must have the highest level of integrity and confidentiality working in this role building trust quickly and relationship driven to show your credibility.
