I’m currently working with an International, Professional Services firm in the senior for their Senior HR Business to support a 12-month maternity cover contract managing international Business Services.

The role holder will be partnering with the Chief Financial Officer, Managing Director – Sustainability & Resilience, Chief of Staff (Corporate Management) and Office of General Counsel to drive the people agenda as part of the leadership team, delivering international people priorities, aligned to the firms International strategy and working collaboratively with senior HR colleagues across the firm. An experienced Human Resources professional who is a trusted advisor, understands the business and its priorities and builds strong relationships that provide both support and challenge. A senior HR role who provides coaching and mentoring support to the wider HR Business Partners and HR Advisors, as well as providing leadership within HR projects and initiatives. Acts as a deputy for the Head of HR.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Acts as a single point of contact for the international leadership teams in Finance, Sustainability & Resilience and Corporate Management. Is an active member of the leadership team, facilitating to bring the best people solutions for the business, partners and employees.
  • Supports the HRBP with managing the relationship, acting as an escalation point and supporting on international matters.
  • Part of the Sustianability & Resilience portfolio, providing support and advice to the management team.
  • Builds strong business relationships with the internal clients and works closely with management team members to develop and deliver against a business aligned people plan.
  • Leads on all human resources matters, including talent, reward, diversity, culture, engagement and learning for the International Finance | Sustainability & Reslience | Office of General Counsel | Corporate Management functions supported directly in the UK by an HRBP, and the HR Advisory Team, and collaboratively with other local HR leads in country to ensure alignment.
  • Provides coaching to leaders to encourage effective communication & objective problem resolution. Manages complex employee relations casework, drives resolution in line with legislation and internal policies.
  • Participates in the implementation of specific projects, taking a lead role across the UK and on an international basis, to help align the workforce to the strategic goals of the Firm.
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to address people risks, working with specialist areas.
  • Contributes and works collaboratively within the HR team, supporting firm-wide HR strategies and initiatives, ensuring the perspectives of internal clients are reflected.
  • Ensures alignment across all Business Services populations through collaboration with the COO HR Business Partnering team and coordinated approaches to communications, annual cycle HR activities and initiatives. Team Management
  • Ensures team members are supported, developed & motivated so that their individual and collective performance meets the current and future needs of the business, actively coaching and developing all direct reports to their full potential.
  • Drives a high performance culture and holds team to account to do the same
  • Ensure team is delivering in line with desired HR model and in a way which supports our future aspirations and system implementation goals
  • Acts as project manager for HR projects and initiatives, working collaboratively with HR colleagues

Skills, experience and characteristics:

  • Proven ability to build and maintain credibility with senior business clients
  • Significant Human Resources experience, across all core areas of HR – recruitment, reward, performance management, learning & development, talent management.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, procedures and processes and proven experience in managing complex cases through to conclusion, balancing the needs of the business and the individual.
  • International mindset with experience working in an international role.
  • Demonstrable success in developing and supporting line managers through change.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
  • Experience of working within a partnership environment is desirable.
  • Good level of commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Good project management capability, with ability to lead project teams.
  • Good organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Proven track record in managing a team of HR Business Partners is desirable.
