Our client, a very successful, growing engineering and construction firm with 2500 domestic employees, is looking to hire a Talent & Employee Development Manager. While the company has a well-developed learning & development function with limited programmatic elements for talent development, their HR leader of the past year is determined to accelerate both employee and management development through continued alignment of L&D with business objectives as well as stronger programmatic talent initiatives that will align with the outcomes of their new performance management process.
In this role, you will manage a team of 2 remote resources with the possibility of growing the team as the function and programs grow. Key deliverables in the first year in this role will entail revamping the company's learning & development offerings to align with employee and management development needs identified during the upcoming performance management process. Soft skills and technical training are handled separately and need to be harmonized. There is a learning management system in place, but reporting and metrics related to learning and development are lacking and need to be put in place. In terms of talent management, this manager will be tasked with developing and implementing a hi-potential program based on the new performance appraisal outcomes, as well as a leadership development program for middle management which will become the basis for succession planning. Travel associated with this role will be ~15-25%.
