VP of People
Our client, an independent digital, social, and out-of-home media agency based in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, is seeking to hire a Vice President of People. This role will report into a Head of People who joined the firm earlier this year to build out their HR capability, needing a right hand to lead the talent acquisition and evolving HR business partner teams. This role will support ~200 employees and growing, and will manage a team of two, while having the ability to grow the team based on the needs of the business. In addition to leading the day-to-day execution of HR service delivery, out client is seeking someone with very strong project management, research, and implementation experience as they seek to bring the HR function and talent management capabilities to maturation.
The ideal candidate will have 10-15+ years of experience with deep technical knowledge across all areas of HR (benefits, payroll, recruiting, employee relations, talent & performance management, compensation). Prior work with creative populations and an inexperienced employee demographic would be strongly desirable. As mentioned above, strong project management skills are critical to success in this role. Executive presence and well-developed communication skills coupled with authenticity are also tantamount to success and driving influence in this environment. This role requires several years of team management of senior level professionals on the HR team. A great sense of humor and outgoing personality won’t hurt.
Our client is seeking candidates who would be willing to work onsite an average of 2 days per week (i.e. you might work onsite 1 day on one week, and then 3 days the following week, depending on the needs of the business).
