Celebrating Black History, every month

UK Black History Month is about digging deeper, looking closer, and thinking bigger.

For me, it’s critical to mark it with meaningful action.

This October, we compiled a list of books focussed on UK Black history from a range of angles, as well as some book on the Black experience and anti-racism.

Each Frazer Jones consultant has chosen a book to read, and we’ll be getting together to discuss them at monthly book clubs. We can learn not just from the books themselves, but also from each other. I personally am excited to reflect on UK Black history and educate myself on how to be a meaningful part of the change we all know is needed.

There is always more than an organisation can do. There is always more to learn, to challenge, to change and to implement.

In September, Frazer Jones were part of Shereen Daniels’ seminal Advancing Racial Equity Conference. This was the first step in a partnership with Shereen and I am excited that in the coming months we will be announcing what is next.

Because, of course, the conversations and the change needed is every month of the year, not just October.
