We are pleased to be partnering with a leading organisation in the broad Education & Training Services sector to appoint a HR Director. This is a high-impact leadership role that will shape the future of HR across the region, aimed at driving transformation, employee engagement, whilst ensuring top-notch operational excellence to purposefully support the growth and expansion of the business.
This is a full-time, 5 days on-site and permanent role based in Singapore, with regional coverage across several key Asia markets (total workforce size is circa <5,000), and you will be leading a sizeable HR team.
Key Responsibilities
As the Regional HR Director, you will assume full ownership of the HR strategy across Asia, encompassing Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, Compensation & Benefits + HRIS and Payroll. Working closely with the Group CHRO, you will be responsible for developing and executing a regional HR strategy. Leading a closely knit and collaborative HR team, this role will focus on building and honing a culture where HR effectively partners with and supports the business.
A critical aspect of your role is to partner closely with the C-suites and managers to gain a deep understanding of the business, thereby effectively supporting the business strategy through workforce planning, succession planning, talent pipelining, optimization of HR processes and more. In addition, you will be the champion for culture across a geographically and culturally diverse workforce, ensuring that employees feel engaged, supported, and motivated to contribute meaningfully. Do note that governance and compliance will be at the crux of your remit, and you will lead your team to ensure that all HR processes adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.
Ideal Profile
The client requires a seasoned, strategic and hands-on HR leader with a proven track record in HR leadership roles. Experience from the Education & Training sector is an advantage, but we welcome HR-director level candidates with the relevant prior experience to apply. As a guideline, you need to have at least 15 to 20 years of HR Generalist experience, in mid to large size organizations (ideally a headcount size of 1,000 and above), and prior experience leading large teams. Candidates with experience managing diverse workforces are also welcome to apply.
Experience in leading change management and process transformation is essential, as is a solid understanding of HR systems and data analytics. The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree and demonstrates a genuine passion for purpose-driven work, with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Equally important is the ability to build trust, navigate complex interpersonal dynamics, and the passion to foster a culture of empathy, inclusion, and collaboration.
