Global Mobility Advisor
Role Overview
An established organisation is seeking an experienced Global Mobility Adviser to join its Human Resources function on a permanent basis. The HR team includes specialists across Recruitment, Advisory, Systems & MI, Diversity & Inclusion, Reward, Benefits & Wellbeing, Employee Relations, and Early Careers Development.
Reporting to the Senior Global Mobility Manager, the successful candidate will work alongside another adviser to support the delivery of global mobility processes and governance. This includes immigration, relocation, and strategic talent movement. The role ensures international moves are compliant, efficient, and aligned with both individual career development and broader business goals.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and tracking international secondments, including documentation, cost projections, and briefings.
- Supporting visa and immigration applications, often in collaboration with external providers.
- Monitoring visa expiry dates and managing renewals or exits to ensure compliance.
- Advising stakeholders on mobility risks, logistics, and benefits.
- Liaising with tax advisers on briefings, equalisation, and employer obligations.
- Ensuring compliance with employment law, payroll, and social security in both home and host countries.
- Applying and maintaining global mobility policies and internal guidance.
- Preparing reports on secondment activity, trends, and costs.
- Supporting strategic talent movement and enhancing employee experience.
- Managing per diem, expenses, payroll data, and annual reviews for secondees.
- Contributing to budget planning and financial forecasting for mobility programs.
- Escalating exceptions, risks, and vendor issues as needed.
- Staying informed of industry trends and recommending improvements.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Prior experience in a similar in-house role within a professional services or corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of immigration and tax issues in key jurisdictions (e.g. UK, EU, US, Asia).
- Experience using HR systems (Workday preferred) and generating reports.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, particularly with senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with secondment models and global mobility frameworks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or collaboratively.
- High attention to detail and resilience under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
