We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Senior Benefits Associate to join our HR team. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in employee leave programs and retirement benefits, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a high level of employee support. The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing complex leave cases and administering retirement plans such as 401(k), pension, and related programs.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Leave of Absence Administration

  • Manage end-to-end administration of employee leaves including FMLA, STD, LTD, PFL, and other statutory or company-sponsored leave programs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work processes
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and maintain accurate records
  • Partner with third-party leave administrators and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless case management

Retirement & 401(k) Plan Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the company’s 401(k) and retirement plans
  • Support employee education and engagement around retirement planning and financial wellness
  • Coordinate with plan vendors, auditors, and legal advisors to ensure plan compliance and timely filings
  • Assist with annual non-discrimination testing, audits, and Form 5500 preparation

General Benefits Support

  • Provide backup support for other benefit programs including health, dental, vision, and wellness
  • Participate in open enrollment planning and execution
  • Assist in developing and updating benefits communications and policy documentation

✅ Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration, with a strong focus on leave and retirement programs
  • In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, PFL, and related compliance requirements
  • Experience administering 401(k) and/or defined benefit retirement plans
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a high level of confidentiality and empathy
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
