Location: New York City, hybrid, in-office one to two days per month

Overview

We are seeking a well-rounded HR Generalist to partner closely with leadership while supporting the day-to-day administration of HR operations. This individual will play a central role in shaping team culture, managing core HR processes, and ensuring a positive and productive employee experience across the organization.

This role requires a balance of hands-on execution and strategic partnership, with a focus on team building, employee relations, payroll support, and coaching leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Partnership and Coaching

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on people-related matters
  • Coach managers on performance management, employee engagement, and team effectiveness
  • Support leadership in building high-performing, collaborative teams
  • Partner with leaders to address employee concerns in a thoughtful and consistent manner

Employee Relations and Culture

  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee relations topics, including conflict resolution and workplace concerns
  • Help foster a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Support initiatives that strengthen team engagement, morale, and retention

HR Operations and Administration

  • Manage day-to-day HR administration, including employee records, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to HR policies, payroll, and general processes
  • Support the execution of HR programs including performance management, employee development, and training
  • Ensure accurate documentation and organization of HR data and processes

Payroll and Benefits Support

  • Partner with finance or external providers to support payroll processing and employee compensation administration
  • Assist with benefits administration and employee questions related to pay and benefits

Team Building and Organizational Development

  • Help design and implement initiatives that strengthen team cohesion and workplace culture
  • Support leadership in building effective team structures and improving collaboration
  • Contribute to programs focused on employee engagement and development

Qualifications

  • Experience in an HR generalist or similar role with exposure to multiple HR functions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable partnering with senior leaders and providing coaching and feedback
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Working Arrangement

  • Hybrid role with flexibility
  • Expected to be in New York City one to two times per month
