Role: Head of Talent Development & Succession

Location: New York, NY

In Office Schedule: 5 days on site

Compensation range: $400,000 – $550,000

Description

We are seeking a strategic and systems-oriented leader to build and own the firm’s long-term human capital architecture. Reporting to the CTO, this role is responsible for the systems through which the firm e identifies, develops, and advances its most critical talent. The Head of Talent Development & Succession also oversees Talent Acquisition, reflecting the firm’s view that hiring strategy and succession planning are fundamentally connected. This leader must operate credibly alongside investment professionals and build infrastructure that is rigorous enough to earn the trust of a highly analytical and demanding senior audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead an enterprise-wide succession planning approach, including clear governance and review cadence
  • Develop a forward-looking workforce planning model spanning 12 to 36 months, in close partnership with technology and business leadership
  • Own the end-to-end talent review process, including structure, facilitation, calibration discussions, and execution of outcomes
  • Define high-potential talent criteria and build a scalable development framework to support future leadership needs
  • Create and deliver leadership development programs aligned to organizational culture, maturity, and growth objectives
  • Partner with senior HR and compensation leaders to design promotion standards, decision frameworks, and advancement criteria
  • Oversee experienced-hire recruiting through the internal talent acquisition function, including external search partner management and hiring governance
  • Translate talent and development insights into actionable priorities for HR business partners and compensation teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 12-18 years of HR or organizational development experience, with at least 5 years in a talent development or succession planning leadership role
  • Alternative asset management, investment banking, or institutional investment experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience designing succession planning processes for senior and investment-track roles
  • Talent review facilitation experience with senior leadership populations
  • Workforce planning methodology experience
  • Familiarity with talent acquisition governance, including search firm management and hiring frameworks
  • Experience building leadership development programs credible with high-performing, analytically oriented professionals
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
  • Strong and concise written and verbal communication skills with ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Mature, dedicated, reliable, and professional, with a hands-on attitude and the willingness to perform all responsibilities required for success
  • Position is based in the New York office, WFO 5 days a week
