This is a great opportunity to take full ownership of the HR offering within a commercially driven SME sized business based in Chelsea. The HR Manager will lead across the entire HR lifecycle with the support of a HR Assistant. The role will help shape the workforce strategy, manage complex employee relations, and deliver commercially driven solutions that directly influence business performance.
This full-time, office-based role offers the chance to work closely with senior leadership, acting as a trusted advisor and driving pragmatic, results-focused HR initiatives.
This role requires you to be onsite 5 days per week in Chelsea.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and establishing workforce models, managing sensitive employee relations cases, and optimising performance and cost across the business. The business is circa 60 employees so this will be a hands-on role that demands confidence, speed, and a strong understanding of UK employment law.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment and workforce planning across permanent, contract, and outsourced models
- Manage disciplinary, grievance, performance and termination processes
- Drive performance culture through KPIs and structured development plans
- Restructure compensation and benefits to optimise cost and value
- Maintain compliant and up-to-date HR policies, contracts, and documentation
- Provide strategic HR advice to leadership
- The office is based on Kings Road Chelsea and you will be required to occasionally travel between company sites when required.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR generalist that has worked in commercial businesses within retail, FMCG or distribution however, sector experience is not essential but it is important to have worked in a fast paced environment. You will have had full ownership of HR from recruitment and onboarding to exit and offboarding. This role will incorporate ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and employee records maintained and secure.
Essential criteria:
- Minimum 5 years of generalist HR experience
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and risk management
- Proven ability to handle complex employee relations and workforce restructuring
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent
- Proven experience working in small to medium-sized businesses.
