In the interim market, both Charlotte and Marcus observed that traditional like-for-like contract hiring decreased. “Work was distributed across existing teams,” said Marcus. “But when individuals were brought in, particularly at the mid-level, they weren’t just generalists – they were generalists with specialist strengths.”

“Roles were probably slightly different last year… we saw many more specialist positions and contractors with more niche skill sets being demanded,” Marcus noted. Rather than replacing full-time hires, many businesses chose to engage interim professionals with project-specific expertise.

Charlotte also highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships – especially in a dynamic job market. “Keeping in touch with your interim talent pool is key.”
