Overview
A well-established, full-service law firm with a strong footprint across Florida is seeking an experienced Attorney Recruiting Manager to lead its lateral and associate hiring strategy.
This role will take ownership of end-to-end attorney recruitment, partnering closely with firm leadership and practice groups to identify, attract, and secure top legal talent. The position is highly visible and strategic, with a focus on aligning hiring initiatives with business growth priorities and ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lateral Attorney Recruiting (Primary Focus)
- Lead the full lifecycle recruitment of lateral attorneys (associates, counsel, and select partner support) across all practice areas
- Partner directly with practice group leaders and hiring partners to understand hiring needs and workforce planning objectives
- Drive targeted sourcing strategies, including direct outreach, market mapping, and search firm management
- Manage and develop relationships with external recruiters and agencies, ensuring consistent pipeline quality
- Oversee candidate evaluation processes, including screening, interview coordination, offer structuring, and negotiation
- Support lateral integration processes, coordinating with HR, conflicts, and internal stakeholders
2. Associate Recruiting (Entry-Level & Experienced Associates)
- Manage recruitment of junior to mid-level associates, both lateral and entry-level
- Partner with leadership to define ideal candidate profiles, skills alignment, and growth plans
- Oversee candidate pipeline management and ensure a seamless and efficient interview process
- Maintain relationships with key talent pools and professional networks
- Support onboarding and assimilation to ensure effective retention and engagement
3. Recruiting Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Develop and execute a data-driven recruitment strategy aligned with firm growth goals
- Provide market insights on compensation, hiring trends, and competitor activity
- Track recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, acceptance rates, attrition trends) and provide actionable reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and candidate experience
4. Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners and firm leadership, guiding hiring decisions and managing expectations
- Drive alignment between practice groups and recruitment strategy
- Navigate complex decision-making processes and manage sensitive, high-stakes hiring discussions
- Ensure consistent communication across all stakeholders throughout the recruitment lifecycle
5. Team Leadership & Operations
- Manage and mentor recruiting coordinators or junior team members, where applicable
- Oversee day-to-day recruiting operations, including interview scheduling, pipeline tracking, and reporting
- Ensure delivery of a high-touch, client-focused candidate experience across all hiring processes
- Maintain and optimise use of applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools
6. Onboarding & Integration
- Partner with HR to oversee onboarding logistics and integration of new hires
- Develop and refine lateral integration best practices to improve retention and performance
- Act as a key point of contact for new hires during the transition period
Experience
- 7-10+ years of experience in attorney recruitment within a law firm or professional services environment
- Demonstrated expertise in lateral and associate hiring across multiple practice areas
- Proven experience working closely with partners and senior stakeholders
Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of law firm hiring structures, compensation models, and recruitment dynamics
- Ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple, concurrent searches
- Data-driven approach to recruitment strategy and decision-making
- High level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive matters
