Payroll Lead

Your Impact

As Payroll Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll accuracy, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining a high standard of service delivery.

Ensure Accurate and Reliable Payroll Delivery

• Oversee payroll operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing
• Adapt payroll processes and planning in line with legislative changes, best practices, and business requirements
• Monitor payroll quality, efficiency, and service levels against agreed KPIs and standards
• Analyse reports, feedback, and error trends to identify opportunities for improvement
• Review complex payroll components, including overtime, shift allowances, commissions, and bonus payments
• Ensure payroll data, documentation, and reporting remain accurate, complete, and up to date
• Resolve escalations and complex payroll issues, including those arising from organisational changes

Lead and Develop Payroll Operations

• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to payroll professionals
• Create clear structures, processes, and performance expectations
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development
• Ensure payroll processes, policies, and legislation are consistently understood and applied
• Support payroll transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

Partner with Stakeholders Across the Business

• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on payroll-related matters
• Build strong relationships with managers, HR teams, Finance, and other departments
• Collaborate closely with shared service and operational teams to ensure seamless payroll delivery
• Coordinate effectively with external payroll partners and service providers

• In-depth understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and payroll processes
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting payroll reports and operational data
• Solid understanding of business operations and the strategic role of payroll

• Strong communication and presentation abilities
