Position Overview

The firm is seeking a high‑caliber Compensation professional to join its Human Capital team and lead key components of compensation strategy, design, and execution. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, business partnership, and strategic advisory work. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in financial services, private equity, alternatives, or a similarly complex, performance‑driven environment, with the ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels.

Depending on experience, the role may be hired at the Manager or Senior Manager level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compensation Strategy & Design
    • Support the development, modeling, and implementation of annual compensation programs, including base salary, bonus, carried interest, and long‑term incentive structures.
    • Conduct market benchmarking and competitive analysis using industry‑relevant survey data.
    • Partner with HR and business leaders to evaluate compensation needs across investment, corporate, and portfolio‑facing teams.
  • Compensation Operations & Governance
    • Lead the annual year‑end compensation cycle, including data modeling, calibration support, and communication materials.
    • Maintain compensation frameworks, job architecture, leveling, and internal equity analyses.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
  • Analytics & Insights
    • Build and maintain compensation models, dashboards, and reporting to support decision‑making.
    • Analyze trends in pay, performance, and retention to provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Business Partnership
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners and business leaders on compensation matters.
    • Support offer development, hiring ranges, and compensation negotiations for key roles.
    • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Talent teams on cross‑functional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of compensation experience within financial services, private equity, alternatives, asset management, or a similarly rigorous environment.
  • Strong command of compensation principles, including incentive design, benchmarking, and regulatory considerations.
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with HRIS or compensation systems is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑performance culture with shifting priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CCP certification preferred.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule: 3-4 days per week onsite in the firm’s NYC office.
  • Collaborative, intellectually rigorous culture with exposure to senior leadership and investment teams.
