Head of Culture and Organisational Development

I am delighted to be supporting a prestigious and iconic organisation in the world of Performing Arts to appoint a Head of Culture and Organisational Development. At an exciting tine to join the People team and organisation you will lead a joined-up, organisation-wide approach to leadership, learning, talent and employee experience.

This is a pivotal senior role with enterprise-wide impact-ideal for someone who thrives on translating strategy into practical, high-impact frameworks that drive meaningful cultural change.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Chief People Officer and working closely with the Executive Team, you will set the direction for how culture and capability come together to enable organisational success. Leading a team of 4 you will develop and build out capabilities within the organisation.

You will focus on embedding leadership capability, performance, talent, engagement and everyday behaviours-creating a high-performing, inclusive and values-led environment.

What you’ll be doing

In this strategic role, you will shape and deliver a joined-up approach to leadership culture and capability-ensuring it is embedded in how the organisation leads, develops talent and operates day to day.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will:

  • Lead leadership, learning and capability development, ensuring people are equipped to deliver now and in the future
  • Design practical talent, succession and performance frameworks that are inclusive and easy to apply
  • Drive engagement and employee voice, turning insight into meaningful action and clear communications
  • Integrate wellbeing into the wider employee experience
  • Enable delivery through the People team, providing clear frameworks and tools
  • Use data and governance to track impact, continuously improving and focusing on what matters most

What we’re looking for

You’re a credible, experienced leader in culture, leadership development and organisational development who knows how to turn strategy into practical action. You bring a strong commercial lens and focus on impact-able to prioritise what really matters and deliver outcomes at pace. You’re comfortable operating at senior levels, influencing and constructively challenging to drive meaningful behavioural change. It is not essential in this role to come from a similar sector, creativity, commerciality and continuous improvement mindset is key!

You understand that inclusion is not a standalone initiative, but something that must be fully embedded into leadership, performance, talent and everyday organisational life-and you have the experience to make that happen.

Specifically, you will bring:

  • Significant experience leading organisation-wide culture, leadership or capability programmes with demonstrable impact
  • A proven ability to embed inclusive, high-performing cultures in practice, not just in theory
  • Strong capability in translating strategy into clear, practical frameworks that are adopted by managers and teams
  • Confidence and credibility to influence, coach and challenge senior stakeholders
  • Experience delivering through others, enabling teams and leaders to take ownership

You’ll be someone who combines strategic thinking with pragmatism-equally comfortable shaping long-term direction and rolling up your sleeves to make change happen.

Salary: £80,000 – £90,000
