A leading manufacturing business is seeking an experienced People Advisor to support its site-based operations team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive HR professional to provide first-line people support, partnering with managers and employees across a fast-paced operational environment. You’ll play a key role in employee relations, recruitment, absence management, onboarding, wellbeing and colleague engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR and people-related queries.
  • Provide advice and guidance on absence, conduct, capability, grievance and probation matters.
  • Support employee relations processes, investigations and formal meetings.
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and probation activities.
  • Monitor absence management and occupational health referrals.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reports and documentation.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing and communication initiatives.
  • Build effective relationships with managers, employees and trade union representatives.
  • Ensure HR processes are compliant with employment legislation and internal policies.

About You

  • Experience in a People Advisor, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
  • Confident supporting managers with people-related matters.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, engineering or another operational environment would be advantageous.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards accreditation is desirable.
