Position Overview
A growing real estate organization is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee and execute multi-state payroll operations for a diverse employee population. This role will be responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, reporting, and process improvements while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried, hourly, and bonus-eligible employees.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll records, earnings, deductions, tax filings, and employee data within the payroll system.
- Partner with HR and Finance on employee changes, audits, reconciliations, and payroll reporting.
- Manage payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support year-end activities including W-2 processing, audits, and compliance reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and system functionality.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll vendors and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including experience managing payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and payroll best practices.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Paycom, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience within real estate, property management, construction, or related industries is preferred.
