HR Manager with strong stakeholder management

The challenge

Cleary Gottlieb is an international law firm with 16 offices worldwide, including two in Germany (Cologne and Frankfurt). They needed an HR Manager to oversee the German offices, replacing the previous manager also placed by Frazer Jones. They needed someone who was a resilient, seasoned HR professional with experience in professional services and a Partner-led environment.

The solution

After discussing the role with the CPO of Cleary Gottlieb, based in their New York headquarters, we understood the requirements and reached out to our network of HR Managers and HR Business Partners in Frankfurt and Cologne.

While we focused on the professional services market, we also presented strong candidates from financial services and other sectors to provide fresh perspectives. This approach created a consultative feedback loop, keeping us in constant communication with the client.

The outcome

Cleary Gottlieb successfully hired an HR Manager from our network. The candidate, recently back from a sabbatical, had extensive experience in similar standalone roles with high levels of stakeholder management in both financial services and professional services.
