Our client, an established and growing global private equity firm with exceptional leadership is seeking a skilled HR Operations leader to join their Toronto office. Rounding out their cohesive and growing HR team, this individual will enjoy a varied role pivoting between day-to-day payroll responsibilities for a firmwide population of 130 people across the US, Canada, and several US states, and serving as anchor to all the firm’s HR operations activities- inclusive of onboarding, orientations, HR data collection and management, and benefits administration.

The core of this role is to serve in both a management and processing capacity alongside their ADP PEO payroll provider, and participate in operations-oriented special projects and day to day management for the firm at large. You’ll also have the chance to run point on the identification and project management of HR systems as the firm continues to grow. As an integral part of their Toronto office, this hire will serve as HR lead there, and interface across the US and globally with other main locations.

This hire will report into an incredible Head of HR based in NYC, and work closely with a lead HR Partner. The sky’s the limit in terms of what you can achieve within this dynamic growth opportunity. Whether contributing to policy design and employee experience practices, your development as an HR professional and long-term professional development will be both supported and visible in this fast paced firm.

Our client is seeking:
* 7 or more years of relevant HR operational experience, with a highlight in payroll knowledge and administration.
* Experience out of small or midsized financial services firms (private equity ideal) is a must.
* Strong Excel and data orientation.
* In-depth command of payroll, payroll auditing, processing, and taxation practices in US and Canada, whether through partnership with a PEO (ADP TotalSource experience a plus) or hands on and in-house.
* A solid understanding of benefits practices will also be crucial.
* Ability to own the firm’s payroll function, in partnership with their PEO, for a population size of approximately 120+ employees in multiple states and globally.

The position requires 3 days in office and offers a very competitive salary, bonus, and benefits.
