Location: Southlake, TX (3-4 days onsite; regular travel within Texas
Compensation: $90-$125/hour
Engagement Type: 3 months – Interim with potential for permanent consideration
The Opportunity
A publicly traded, growth-oriented industrial services organization is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function through a period of continued growth, acquisition integration, and operational stabilization.
The company employs approximately 1000 employees, with the majority working in field-based technical roles across Texas. Talent attraction, engagement, and retention are critical business priorities, and leadership views HR as a strategic lever for building culture, strengthening employee trust, and supporting long-term growth.
Following a recent HR systems implementation and several months of remediation work, the organization is seeking a hands-on HR leader who can provide structure, establish priorities, and help move the function from stabilization into strategic execution.
This individual will partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership team while leading a small but capable HR team. There is potential for the right interim leader to be considered for the permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a three-person HR team while creating clarity around priorities, ownership, and execution.
- Oversee ongoing payroll, benefits, HRIS, compliance, and employee data remediation efforts.
- Manage open enrollment activities and support workforce integration initiatives resulting from a recent acquisition.
- Coordinate internal HR resources and external consultants to ensure timely execution of critical projects.
- Create and implement a strategic HR roadmap that balances immediate operational needs with long-term business objectives.
- Strengthen employee engagement, trust, communication, and retention initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership on organizational design, talent strategy, workforce planning, and culture-building efforts.
- Support future growth initiatives, including acquisition integration and organizational scaling.

Required Experience
- Leading HR within a growing, changing, or operationally complex organization.
- Managing lean HR teams and operating effectively without large specialist support functions.
- Supporting field-based, industrial, manufacturing, construction, logistics, energy, transportation, or skilled-trades workforces.
- Driving HR transformation, systems improvements, integration work, and change management initiatives.
- Partnering with executive leadership on business and people strategy.
