This is a broad generalist role that will play a key part in delivering a high-quality people service across the business. Working closely with managers and employees, you’ll provide practical HR advice, support a wide range of employee relations matters, and help ensure people processes are delivered consistently and effectively.

About the Role

This is a varied and hands-on HR generalist position where you’ll partner with managers across the business to provide advice and guidance throughout the employee lifecycle. From employee relations and performance management to policy advice, onboarding and projects, you’ll be a trusted point of contact for all people-related matters while helping to drive a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for managers and employees on a broad range of people matters.
  • Provide practical HR advice and guidance, ensuring policies and procedures are applied consistently.
  • Support managers with employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence management and investigations.
  • Coach and advise managers on best practice and employment legislation.
  • Deliver training and guidance sessions to both new and existing managers.
  • Support probation reviews, promotions and internal moves.
  • Assist with the delivery of the performance review cycle.
  • Manage employee lifecycle activity including onboarding, inductions and offboarding.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Talent Acquisition, Payroll and Learning & Development to ensure a seamless people service.
  • Contribute to HR projects, process improvements and wider people initiatives.
  • Champion wellbeing, inclusion and employee engagement activities across the business.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and support HR reporting requirements.
  • Provide support to the wider People & Culture team when required.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships and partnering with managers to find practical solutions. You’ll be someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, coming with solid employee relations experience, a good understanding of employment law, and a proactive approach to delivering an excellent people experience.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor or People & Culture Adviser role.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases from start to finish.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or currently working towards qualification.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive and professional attitude.
