HR Advisor
Our client is a fast growing, private‑equity‑backed international organisation, with a strong footprint in the UK and Europe and a rapidly expanding global presence. Following a period of significant acquisition and growth, the business has entered an exciting phase of transformation and they’re strengthening leadership capability, building central infrastructure, and professionalising people practices across the business. The organisation has invested heavily in building a high‑calibre leadership team, bringing together senior talent from leading companies. With a clear focus on the next three to five years, this role has been created as part of the next stage of building a scalable, modern People function. As complexity increases across regions and brands, there is a critical need for strong senior‑level HR advisory capability; someone who can support leaders confidently, manage risk pragmatically, and help shape policies and frameworks fit for a growing, fast‑paced organisation.
About the Role
As a Senior HR Advisor, you will play a pivotal role within the People team, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across headquarters and the wider business globally. Reporting into the Head of HR, you will provide hands‑on, commercially focused HR advice across a broad range of employee relations and people matters, with exposure up to executive level. This is a high‑impact advisory role, well suited to someone in their next career step who wants to gain genuine global exposure, operate closely with leadership, and contribute to shaping how a People function operates in a scale‑up, PE‑backed environment. You will be supported by experienced senior People leaders but trusted to operate with autonomy, judgement, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior point of contact for HR and employee relations matters across HQ and international teams.
- Provide confident, pragmatic advice on employee relations issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, restructures, and change.
- Review, advise on, and help implement HR policies and frameworks aligned with employment law and best practice.
- Coach and support leaders at all levels, including exposure to the executive team, on first‑line people matters.
- Play an active role in shaping and building scalable HR processes in a growing organisation.
- Support the rollout of a new HRIS and embed consistent ways of working across the business.
- Contribute to organisational design and group‑level people initiatives as the function matures.
- Use sound judgement to balance risk, culture, and commercial outcomes in decision‑making.
- Work closely with HR colleagues across specialist areas to deliver a joined‑up People service.
About You
We’re looking for an intellectually curious, confident HR professional with strong employee relations experience and a genuine interest in working in fast‑paced, growing environments. You’ll be someone who is comfortable advising senior stakeholders, making judgement calls, and operating where not everything is fully defined yet. You also combine strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
What You Bring
- Around 5+ years’ experience in an HR advisory or HR generalist role with significant ER exposure.
- Proven experience advising managers and senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including drafting, reviewing, and advising on policies.
- Experience in scale‑up, start‑up, or PE‑backed environments, or similarly fast‑moving organisations.
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and help build structure where processes are still evolving.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance risk, culture, and business priorities.
- High levels of judgement, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
- Comfortable working at pace with minimal bureaucracy and a strong delivery focus.
- Experience working with HR systems and data; exposure to a new HRIS implementation is advantageous.
