Senior Manager, Lateral Partner Recruiting & Integration

New York, NY | Hybrid

A prestigious international law firm is seeking a Senior Manager, Lateral Partner Recruiting & Integration to support the strategic growth of the firm through the recruitment, onboarding, and integration of high-profile lateral partner talent.

This is a highly visible position working closely with firm leadership and practice group leaders to drive key growth initiatives, oversee complex partner recruitment processes, and deliver an exceptional candidate and onboarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lateral Partner Recruitment

  • Partner with firm leadership to identify, attract, and recruit high-calibre lateral partner talent.
  • Develop and maintain strategic talent pipelines through market mapping, research, referrals, and relationship management.
  • Manage the end-to-end partner recruitment process, including candidate review, interview coordination, feedback collection, status reporting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Conduct due diligence activities, including candidate documentation review, conflict clearance coordination, reference checks, and background screening.
  • Support the preparation of business cases, presentations, and materials for partnership review and approval processes.
  • Assist in facilitating complex compensation and partnership offer discussions.

Market Intelligence & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with legal search firms and key industry contacts.
  • Track competitor activity, market trends, and lateral talent movement across the legal industry.
  • Maintain talent intelligence databases and support workforce planning initiatives through data-driven market insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Partner Onboarding & Integration

  • Lead the onboarding and integration process for newly hired partners.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between leadership, business services teams, and incoming partners.
  • Develop tailored onboarding plans and oversee execution across all key stakeholder groups.
  • Monitor integration progress and gather feedback to support long-term retention and success.
  • Produce recruiting and integration metrics, reports, and year-end analyses for firm leadership.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience within law firm recruiting, legal executive search, partner recruiting, attorney recruiting, or legal talent management.
  • Strong understanding of law firm structures, legal market trends, and lateral partner hiring practices.
  • Exceptional project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple confidential matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, execution-focused approach.
  • High degree of professionalism and credibility when interacting with firm leadership and partners.
